Are you on the look out for good, old fashioned quality toys this holiday season? I’m an older mom and I very rarely see toys for my kids that are of the quality I grew up with. The toys we had lasted through 3 kids and were still in shape to be given away.
The Schleich brand is a throw back to durable toys, and wholesome toys, emulating real life ideas and things like dinosaurs, domestic and wild animals, and the Wild West. And then there’s the not so real but fun characters Schleich immortalized through plastic such as the Smurfs from the 1980’s, Snoopy, Muppet Show, medieval knights and elves!
Schleich’s have been crafting figurines since the 1950’s, it makes sense that they have mastery of realism. The Schleich Farm World Horse Stable playset is hand painted, highly detailed and made of a high quality plastic. The roof of the stable has skylights that open. How much better does it get than that?!
The Schleich Farm World is designed for children ages 3-8 years old. It’s become apparent to me during the unboxing, my newly 3 year old does not appreciate the real working latches on the stable, the detail of the horseback rider, the clothe horse blanket, nor the durability of the plastic. Actually, it was painful to me when my son made a mess of the 2 bails of hay, 3 bundles of fruits and veggies, the flower box full of rich red and yellow flowers, 12 gates for the riding area, 2 beautiful horses with bridle.
I can’t fault kids today for not appreciating the craftsmanship that I appreciate. They don’t know any better.
I learned from Schleich’s PR that “Schleich products are developed with the assistance of parents, teachers and children and are designed for children’s small hands.”
There are very few companies that uphold this level of product pride. You can expect quality from Schleich in all it’s toy lines. (I can say this because I’m the proud owner of more than 30 Schleich Smurf figurines.)
