This past week, I sat down with a group of NY area health focused bloggers hosted by Ellie Krieger, RDN, the rockstar culinary nutritionist, who is the host of “Ellie’s Real Good Food” show, author of several cookbooks, and a columnist for The Washington Post. Ellie discussed the recent survey results that confirm what most women consider a taboo topic — the gut. Sure, it is not as glamorous as vacation planning or getting a great deal on boots. However, gut issues affect the entire body, from mood, to memory, immunity, digestion and more — prompting Renew Life Probiotics to start the “Get to Know Your Gut” campaign to better share the benefits.
Ellie shared with us the surprising ways that the gut impacts our overall health and wellness. She also shared with us her expert go-to guide for replenishing and infusing balance back into the gut. In addition to good-for-your-gut foods, Ellie shared with us her not-so-secret weapon of a healthy regimen of Renew Life Probiotics and how to implement them into our busy lives.
My personal experience with probiotics has been very limited. I knew that it was important, however, I didn’t know how important until I sat down with Renew Life Probiotics to discuss this much taboo topic a regular conversation. The “gut” is considered the core of our body’s overall health and well-being and can affect our entire body, including immunity, digestion and more. According to a recent survey**, nearly three-quarters of women (72 percent) have experienced a digestive/gut issue in the past 12 months and nearly two-thirds (64%) of women aren’t willing to talk about it with their friends. Let’s face it, when is the last time your brought up this topic with your friends? Yup, me neither.
Yet, getting to the “gut” of the digestion process and everything in between (literally) is key to our overall health improvement. I have experienced a lot of bloating and I am relieved to hear about other ways that I can improve the root cause of this discomfort. Not only physically, but having people think that my bloat is my next child is insulting. I can personally empathize with the issues Renew Life Probiotics would like to improve and I am so grateful for that!
Did you know that there are more than 100 trillion live cultures of many diverse strains inside your digestive tract that can be easily disrupted by stress, diet, aging, certain medications and even the environment? Nutrition experts agree that one of the most efficient and impactful ways to bring balance to the digestive tract is with a probiotic like Renew Life Ultimate Flora Probiotics. Notice that diet and aging were mentioned there too? As a primetimeparent my goal is to share with my fellow primetime peeps the best ways to support their immune system. Here are some more reasons why there really is something to your “gut” reaction, especially when people get sick easily.
70% of the immune system is located in the intestinal tract; therefore, maintaining gut health is a key part of maintaining your overall health. To help keep your complex digestive system thriving and restore good bacteria, Renew Life Ultimate Flora Probiotics deliver unique, potent formulas that contain tens of billions of cultures, and multiple probiotic strains to help achieve better digestive and immune health.*
That “gut” reaction and status of your overall digestive status can also affect your entire body, including mood and memory. No wonder we feel down and out when our tummies hurt. Furthermore, some women are unaware that diet (16 percent), stress (21 percent), aging (43 percent) and even their living environment (52 percent) are factors that can upset the delicate bacterial equilibrium in the gut, which can make it difficult to feel your best.
I am so happy my friend Beth Feldman reached out to me about Renew Life Ultimate Flora Probiotics. I just love a brand that wants to educate women about digestive health, how vital its ecosystem is to our body’s overall health and well-being, and the benefits everyone can reap from taking a probiotic.
Since we’re on the topic of the “Get to Know Your Gut” education campaign, here is a recap of the important information about gut health and digestive wellness, or Probiotics 101, mentioned above:
