Nobody likes to admit that their relationship is …lousy, or maybe somewhere on the road to lousy. Nobody likes to wake up and realize it’s too late, there’s nothing left.
What if you had the tools to heal a derailed, disenchanted, wounded dream? What if you could get a relationship forecast like we get a weather forecast? When The Balanced Relationship Barometer book was put in my hands for review I was, mildly put, resistant. I think I’ve come to a point where I just don’t believe anymore.I surprised myself and read through the book in 2 days. The wording was so natural it was like the author, Michael Gabriel was in my living room talking to me. He generously and revealingly shares his own experiences and the circumstances leading to the end of his marriage yet more importantly to the in depth exploration of relationship dynamics that would become this book…and app! And this app really takes care of it all. It’s the workbook, which brings the content of the book into real life.
The app is like a calculator. You will put in information and the app will give you your relationship forecast…sunny, rainy, stormy. There are some weather (relationship) patterns that don’t change because it’s a new day and if we are becoming healthier individuals we will look, and analyze, and make game plans or decisions. A reoccurring exercise (in the book and in the app) is to identify the Must Have’s in a relationship, the Like To Have’s and the absolutely Can Not Have’s. One of these categories is noted as THE most important but I’m not going to tell you which. You’ll have to find out for yourself with the help of the book and the app.
Identifying the items on these list is a self exploration that is a necessary one. It helps us identify who we really are and what’s important to us. At the end of the day, the most important relationship is with ourselves, which is the underlying theme of The Balanced Relationship Barometer…knowing oneself is the key to being with the right partner.
