With the school year ending and the summer beginning, my days are devoted to taking care of the kids. No matter how tired I may be after the kids have gone to bed, I treat myself to an episode (or complete binge status) on some of my favorite shows on Netflix. This past June 6, I couldn’t wait to watch Season 2 of Orange is the New Black. When I visited the set of Orange is the New Black in Queens, NY, I had no idea how hooked I would be on this show. One of the highlights of my blogging career so far was attending the Season 2 Preview and After Party with the actors and crew of this award winning show. I was especially honored to meet Jenji Kohan at the party as well.
Pictured above, yes this really happened, with Dascha Polanco (Dayanara Diaz) and Matt McGorry (John Bennett) on the set of Orange is the New Black. They were just filming Season 2 at this point and the #streamteam was invited to meet the entire cast.
In addition to this award winning show, Netflix has a fantastic selection of titles to get you through the summer months. I am also a huge fan of Scandal, which you can catch as well.
The best way to get the most out of your Time-Out for Netflix experience? Here are my top 3 tips!
Wear headphones. Tell your husband you are really going into your away zone and don’t miss any of the sounds while you watch. Put on a pair of really awesome headphones, like these House of Marley .
Popcorn. A great healthy snack with a kick. I add garlic salt and oregano!
Seltzer Slushy. Put a bottle of seltzer in a freezer and when it starts to get slushy, take it out. Pour into a tall glass and add a squirt of Drink Arizona Half & Half, Iced Tea & Lemonade, and Liquid Water Enhancer.
