On December 10, 2015, the New York Women in Film & Television Muse Awards honored actors Blythe Danner, Patricia Clarkson and Gabourey Sidibe, as well as BBC America President & General Manager Sara Barnett and Marvel Studios EVP Victoria Alonso at the New York Hilton Midtown. The 35th annual Muse Awards gala luncheon honored outstanding vision and achievement with an additional Loreen Arbus Changemaker award presented to producer performer activist Lizz Winstead. Actress and CBS Commentator Nancy Giles emceed.
Honoree Blythe Danner dedicated her award to her husband, director and producer Bruce Paltrow. ‘He encouraged me to spread my wings.’
Sara Barnett thanked her bosses and noted ‘All have been muses to me.’ On aging, ‘…getting older the ultimate win…how rich that understanding is.’
Victoria Alonso reflected, ‘Every work environment is better when we [women] are in it…when was the first time that you started to judge yourself? And to that I would say stop…you have to love yourself…instead of judging, consider…what is essential is to love yourself.’
