Kosher Foodie Mom

My husband and I love food, especially food that is kosher and health. I know that it is usually the wife that prepares all of the meals, but in our home my husband has taken on that roll more and more. I have learned so much from him about cooking, how did he get so good at cooking? He not only worked in a restaurant as a teenager, but he learned how to slice and dice quickly and efficiently. I was the polar opposite. I loved taking my time in the kitchen. I enjoyed discovering new recipes in old cookbooks that my mother gave me. One of my all time favorites is a recipe for Chicken Soup with Matzo Balls. I also love having a gazillion recipes at my fingertips at anytime.

Keeping kosher for religious or dietary reasons can be so much fun. Kosher food is not all unhealthy and my husband I have endless recipes that we serve both our Jewish and non-Jewish friends and the love our meals. My husband has taught me so much about shopping for the best prices, healthy ingredients, and being efficient and creative in the kitchen. I wanted to include some of our favorite online resources, events, cost saving solutions, and recipes because they helped me get in touch with my culinary side.
